Article 1: Objet

¹ Le «Centre Maurice Chalumeau en sciences des sexualités» octroie chaque année le «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau» destiné à récompenser des thèses de doctorat non encore publiées, dans le domaine des sexualités.
² Le « Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau » est doté des montants suivants:
-    1^er Prix:     CHF 4'000.-;
-    2^e Prix:     CHF 3'000.-;
-    3^e Prix:     CHF 2'000.-

Article 2: Conditions

L’octroi du «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau» est soumis aux conditions suivantes:

a.    La thèse de doctorat doit concerner de manière centrale le domaine des sexualités et adopter une démarche interdisciplinaire; et s'inscrire dans l'un ou plusieurs des trois axes du Centre (Arts et savoirs sur les sexualités; droits sexuels; santé sexuelle);
b.    La thèse doit avoir été soutenue auprès d’une université ou haute école suisse; elle ne doit pas avoir été publiée;
c.    La thèse doit être rédigée dans l’une des trois langues officielles (français, allemand, italien) ou en anglais;
d.    Les thèses sont éligibles jusqu’à trois semestres après leur soutenance;
e.    Une thèse ne peut être soumise deux fois au «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau»;
f.    Si la directrice ou le directeur de la thèse est membre de la Commission scientifique du Centre, elle ou il ne peut participer aux délibérations du jury;
g.    Le Centre Maurice Chalumeau en sciences des sexualités se réserve le droit de publier en ligne un résumé de la thèse et, avec l’accord de l’auteur-e, son intégralité; dans ce cas, la Commission scientifique du Centre peut demander des modifications du manuscrit.

Article 3: Modalités

¹ Les candidatures doivent être déposées, par voie électronique, au 1^er septembre de chaque année.
² Le dossier doit comporter les pièces suivantes:

a.    Formulaire «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau» dûment complété;
b.    Lettre de motivation;
c.    Manuscrit complet de la thèse;
d.    Résumé de la thèse et de ses orientations méthodologiques;
e.    Lettre de la directrice ou du directeur de thèse;

f.     CV académique avec copie des diplômes et relevés de notes;

g.   Rapport du jury de thèse.

³ Les dossiers incomplets ne seront pas pris en considération.

Article 4: Décision

¹ L’octroi du «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau» est du ressort de la Commission scientifique du Centre Maurice Chalumeau en sciences des sexualités. Celle-ci peut éventuellement désigner des expert-e-s externes.
² La Commission scientifique peut décider de l’octroi des prix ex-aequo en répartissant les sommes correspondantes entre plusieur-e-s candidates ou candidats. Elle se réserve le droit de ne pas attribuer de prix si elle considère que les travaux soumis ne sont pas éligibles.
³ La Commission scientifique notifie sa décision par écrit à la candidate ou au candidat au plus tard au mois de novembre de la même année.

Article 5: Effets juridiques de l’octroi

¹ Les lauréates et lauréats du «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau  sont soumis-e-s aux obligations suivantes:

a.    En cas de publication de la thèse, l’obtention du «Prix senior Maurice Chalumeau» doit être explicitement mentionnée;
b.    Participer à la cérémonie publique de remise du Prix, prévue à Genève, physiquement ou en visioconférence.

c. Un exmplaire papier de la thèse doit être transmis au Centre dans un délai d'un mois après l'obtention du prix Senior; si la thèse fait ultèrieurement l'objet d'une publication, un exmplaire de l'ouvrage qui en est issu doit également être déposé auprès du CMCSS.

² Les décisions de la Commission scientifique sont sans appel. Le fait de soumettre une candidature implique l’acceptation du présent règlement.

Article 1: Purpose

1 Each year, the Maurice Chalumeau Centre for Sexual Sciences awards the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" for unpublished doctoral theses in the field of sexualities.

2 The amounts of the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" are as follows:

- 1st prize: CHF 4,000;

- 2nd prize: CHF 3,000;

- 3rd prize: CHF 2000.

 

Article 2: Conditions

The award of the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" is subject to the following conditions:

a.    The doctoral dissertation must focus on the field of sexuality, adopt an interdisciplinary approach, and fall within one or more of the Centre's three axes (Arts and knowledge of sexualities; sexual rights; sexual health);

b.    The thesis must have been defended at a Swiss university or university of applied sciences; it must not have been published;

c.    The thesis must be written in one of the three official languages (French, German, Italian) or in English;

d.    Theses are eligible up to three semesters after their defense;

e.    A thesis cannot be submitted twice for the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize";

f.    If the thesis director is a member of the Centre's Scientific Committee, he or she may not participate in the jury's deliberations;

g.    The Maurice Chalumeau Centre for Sexual Sciences reserves the right to publish a summary of the thesis online and, with the author's agreement, the entire thesis; in this case, the Centre's Scientific Committee may request modifications to the manuscript.

 

Article 3: Terms and conditions

1 Applications must be submitted electronically by 1 September of each year.

2 The application must include the following documents:

a.    A duly completed "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" form;

b.    Letter of motivation;

c.    Complete manuscript of the thesis;

d.    Summary of the thesis and its methodological orientations;

e.    Letter from the thesis supervisor;

f.     Academic CV with copies of diplomas and transcripts;

g.   Report of the thesis jury.

3 Incomplete applications will not be considered.

 

Article 4: Decision

1 The award of the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" is the responsibility of the Scientific Committee of the Maurice Chalumeau Centre for Sexual Sciences, which may appoint external experts.

2 The Scientific Committee may decide to award the prizes ex-aequo by dividing the corresponding sums among several candidates. It reserves the right not to award a prize if it considers the work submitted to be ineligible.

3 The Scientific Committee shall notify candidates of its decision in writing by November of the same year.

 

Article 5: Legal effects of the prize

1 The laureates of the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" are subject to the following obligations:

a.    In the event of publication of the thesis, the fact that the "Maurice Chalumeau Senior Prize" has been awarded must be explicitly mentioned;

b.    Participation in the public award ceremony in Geneva, either in person or by videoconference.

c. A hard copy of the thesis must be sent to the Centre within one month of receiving the Senior Prize; if the thesis is subsequently published, a copy of the resulting book must also be submitted to the CMCSS.

2 The decisions of the Scientific Committee are final. Submission of an application implies acceptance of these rules.
